RIBBONS AND REEVES, a leading Education Recruiter in London, is seeking an Aspiring Science Teacher to join their team as a Science Teaching Assistant in Sutton. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive and dynamic environment.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting students in the classroom, providing 1:1 or small group interventions to boost understanding and confidence. They will also collaborate with the Science department to design lessons and create engaging resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Science department to design lessons and create engaging resources.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group interventions to boost student understanding and confidence.
  • Help manage behaviour in line with school policies, supporting a positive learning environment.
  • Assist with exam preparation, including analysing mock papers and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Observe and participate in lessons to understand the day-to-day realities of being a teacher.
Requirements
  • A Science graduate with a strong academic background in Science, including a minimum of a 2:1 degree and strong grades at GCSE and A-Level.
  • A passion for education and a desire to inspire the next generation.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, organised and enthusiastic approach to supporting learners.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary, estimated at £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with benefits that include professional development opportunities and a supportive working environment.
