Job Title: Accommodation Support Specialist

Job Summary:

Local Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accommodation Support Specialist to join our team. As an Accommodation Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of a high-quality housing and support service that provides accommodation to 16-21 year olds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Trauma-Informed Support: Provide a pro-active, trauma-informed, person-centered, and strength-based intervention service through individual safety planning and personal support.
  • Prioritize Service Users: Focus and prioritize service users who face additional barriers to accessing support and engaging in safety and support planning.
  • Deliver Best Practice Housing and Support Service: Deliver best practice housing and support service, appropriate to clients' needs.
  • Attend Regular Meetings: Attend regular one-to-one supervision meetings and team meetings.
  • Deliver Outcome Targets: Deliver clearly defined outcome targets for service users, ensuring quality assessments are consistently maintained to the highest level.
  • Implement Policies and Procedures: Implementing policies and procedures to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Promote Service User Consultation: Promote the highest levels of service user consultation, communication, and partnership in all aspects of service delivery.
  • Develop Education and Employment Opportunities: Ensure that the development of and access to education, training, and employment opportunities are central to the service.
  • Meet Key Performance Indicators: Ensure that key performance indicators (e.g., voids, arrears, and quality standards) are met within the upper quartile for the sector.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Help maintain accurate and confidential case management records and databases and contribute to monitoring information for the service.
  • Comply with Legislation: Comply with data protection legislation, confidentiality, and information sharing policy and procedures and all legislation connected to your work.
  • Support Colleagues and Partner Agencies: Support colleagues and partner agencies, through awareness raising and institutional advocacy, in order to provide the best possible service for service users.
  • Respect Diversity: Respect and value the diversity of the community in which the services work and recognize the needs and concerns of a diverse range of service users ensuring the service is accessible to all.
  • Remain Up-to-Date: Remain up-to-date and compliant with all organisational procedures, policies, and professional codes of conduct and uphold standards of best practice.

Participation in Multi-Agency Operational Partnerships:

  • Work with Multi-Agency Partners: Work to ensure the role is central to multi-agency work and responses to homelessness in your area.
  • Develop and Maintain Links: Develop and maintain links with other agencies.
  • Represent the Service: Represent the service at operational multi-agency meetings, feeding back initiatives and outcomes to the team and contribute to the evaluation of the quality of activities these services offer.
  • Work in Partnership: Work in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies to tackle the issue of homelessness.
  • Represent the Service at Events: Represent the service at local and national events; deliver training and presentations as required.
  • Influence and Develop Responses: Influence and develop responses to improve services to service users ensuring that the experiences of service users and other agencies inform this process.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Additional Provision: To deliver additional provision/group-based work with sourced funding.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements including Data protection, confidentiality, child protection, and adult safeguarding.
  • Engage Service Users: Ensure there is robust engagement and involvement of service users re service improvements.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Experience: Relevant experience and/or qualifications in housing support.
  • Experience with Complex Needs: Experience and knowledge of providing support to people with multiple and complex needs.
  • IT Skills: Knowledge and practical experience of using IT.
  • Good Communication Skills: Good communication skills.
  • Resilience and Adaptability: Resilient and robust with a positive outlook.
  • Ability to Adapt: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Commitment to Quality: Commitment to quality, customer service, best practice, and best value in all aspects of the organisation's operation.
  • Flexible Working Patterns: Flexible working patterns, including Days, Evenings, and Weekends, 4 on/4 off.
