Clinical Scientist Service Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Scientist to lead our Genomics Central Laboratory at St James's University Hospital. As a key member of our Rare Disease team, you will be responsible for overseeing the analytical work in the Prenatal and Paediatric Genomics team and providing line management support.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the NEY Genomic Laboratory Hub Lead Scientist to ensure the hub is at the forefront of the National Genomic Testing Service.
- Develop specific areas of highly specialist expertise and responsibility in clinical areas, providing significant clinical liaison.
- Participate in aspects of the management process within the laboratory, including human resource management.
- Provide advice to consultants and other service users.
We are looking for a candidate with a degree-level education, further specialist training, experience, research, or study to Masters degree level or equivalent. Registration in an appropriate scheme for Healthcare Scientist is essential. Desirable qualifications include research experience and good computer skills.
ExperienceEssential experience includes Genetics over a wide range of services, with substantial experience of service planning, development, and delivery. Management experience is also required.
