We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Scientist to lead our Genomics Laboratory team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As a key member of our Rare Disease team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of a high-quality Genomics service, working closely with our partners in the NEY Genomic Laboratory Hub.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to ensure the laboratory is at the forefront of National Genomic Testing Service.
- Supervise and manage staff to deliver high-quality genetic tests, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and appropriateness.
- Participate in the training program of the department, providing training for both clinical services and managerial functions.
- Contribute to the development of new services and technologies, ensuring the laboratory remains current and effective.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree-level education, plus further specialist training, experience, research, or study to Masters degree level or equivalent.
- Registration in an appropriate scheme for Healthcare Scientist.
- Substantial experience in Genetics, with a strong background in service planning, development, and delivery.
- Management experience, with the ability to supervise and manage staff.
