Job Summary:

Advanced Metalcraft Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Operations Manager to oversee the production of structural steel frames, balconies, staircases, balustrades, and associated steelwork. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the organization of the main factory, ensuring timely delivery of projects within budget and scope.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
  • Manage the production schedule, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing delays
  • Liaise with the Operations, Contracts, and Commercial teams to ensure smooth project execution
  • Oversee daily and weekly production in both manufacture and assembly workshops
  • Attend handover and design meetings to ensure project requirements are met
  • Track workshop hours and advise on any shortfalls
  • Plan resources and set working hours based on production requirements
  • Chair production meetings to ensure effective communication and decision-making
  • Ensure purchase orders are called off to suppliers in a timely manner
  • Chase suppliers for delivery dates to ensure production is maintained
  • Ensure employees are working safely and adhering to risk assessments and procedures
  • Record all deliveries on the spreadsheet
  • Plan transport requirements with operations for deliveries to sites
  • Foster relationships with clients and key vendors to ensure smooth project execution
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure that all manufactured works are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Develop production scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed production plan to track progress
  • Measure production performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Perform risk management to minimize production risks
  • Create and maintain comprehensive production documentation

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a production manager in the construction industry
  • Excellent internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of accounting and production management
  • Solid technical background and comfortable with numbers and technology
  • Great attention to detail
  • Well-organized and reliable
  • Able to work with minimum supervision within the senior management team
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Working Hours: 8.00 to 17.00 Monday to Friday

Holiday Entitlement: 20 Days + National and Bank Holidays

Pension and Death in Service Scheme: Yes

Salary: Dependent on experience
