About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board as a Senior Mental Health Specialist in Older Adult Care, providing specialist psychiatric assessment, treatment, and management for older adults based in Dwyfor, South Gwynedd.

Job Overview:

The post holder will be responsible for Older Persons Services, covering GP surgeries in Dwyfor, South Gwynedd. The role involves providing CPA reviews and ward rounds for inpatients, outpatient clinics, and medical input to the memory service. Dealing with organic referrals for the catchment area.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing specialist psychiatric assessment, treatment, and management for people with cognitive impairment, including Young Onset Dementias, and those over 70 with functional illnesses.
  • Working collaboratively with the Acute Care Services and supporting acute care with dedicated sessions.
  • Assisting with clinical supervision of the team and training team members in clinical matters.
  • Developing and implementing care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Full Registration with the General Medical Council.
  • Minimum of four years (full-time or equivalent) in postgraduate training in the UK or equivalent EEA training.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and good team working skills.
  • Ability to communicate in the medium of Welsh (desirable).

Salary:

£65,000 - £85,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

Dwyfor, South Gwynedd.
