About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Underwriting Manager to join our team at Aviva. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for driving profitable growth and setting strategic direction for our Manchester branch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of underwriters to deliver high-quality underwriting results and ensure strong underwriting capability development.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve branch financial performance, analyzing data trends and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Provide technical advice and analysis to support underwriting decisions and contribute to our National Underwriting Strategy.
  • Manage underwriting accounts and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improve customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in underwriting leadership, with a strong background in Property and Casualty.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data trends and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with experience in managing complex non-standard underwriting arrangements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop strategic relationships with brokers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of insurance regulation, agency, and compliance, with a broad understanding of the insurance industry.
