About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our team at SPE Travelers Management, LTD. As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a critical role in supporting our renewal book of property and casualty business from an assigned broker panel in the North of England, primarily around Manchester and Leeds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite and assess risk to maximize business growth and profitability for allocated broker panel.
  • Make prompt, sound decisions within underwriting authority and based on appropriate underwriting information.
  • Understand and execute Travelers' underwriting strategies and principles to produce budgeted results.
  • Work with Development Underwriter on same broker panel to continuously manage book of business, maintaining quality of business, growth, and profit.
  • Accountable for accurate underwriting documentation and information in account management systems and adherence to Travelers' documentation standards.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to help achieve underwriting, sales, and production goals and work towards strategic objectives.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in underwriting, preferably in property and casualty classes of business.
  • General knowledge of the local insurance marketplace.
  • Thorough knowledge of organizational and regulatory rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge and ability required in respect of analytical thinking, judgment, decision making, communication, and strong team work.
  • ACII qualification preferred.
