Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Back-end Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and building robust, scalable, and secure APIs and services using Ruby on Rails.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-quality, scalable, and secure APIs and services using Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL.
- Collaborate with our agile team to deliver high-impact projects and features.
- Develop and maintain our technical foundation, ensuring a solid and scalable architecture for our business.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of our engineering practices.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, applying knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience building back-end services with Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL.
- Deep knowledge of the Rails and Ruby ecosystem, including tools and best practices.
- Experience working with common Rails gems like Sidekiq, Devise, and RSpec.
- Strong understanding of software architecture patterns and when to apply them.
- Relational Database design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance.
- Experience scaling back-end services in a rapidly growing business with high traffic spikes.
- Understanding and appreciation of automated testing, cyber-security, and application performance.
- Agile, cross-functional, and empowered team background.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, creative problem-solving, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
Bonus/Additional Skills
- Experience building ecommerce and marketplace products.
- Interest and understanding of functional programming languages, and experience building services with Elixir and Phoenix.
- Cloud infrastructure build and maintenance, especially using IaC and Kubernetes on AWS.
