Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are working with a secondary school in the Rotherham area who are looking for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their SEND provision. This is a long-term opportunity commencing in September 2024.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the needs of students and providing support to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This will involve delivering specific intervention small group work, supporting quality learning experiences for pupils, and understanding the needs of students disengaged with education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessing the needs of students and providing support to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
  • Delivering specific intervention small group work
  • Supporting quality learning experiences for pupils
  • Understanding the needs of students disengaged with education
  • Building positive relationships with staff and students
  • Showing initiative and asking for direction when needed
  • Caring deeply about students' wellbeing and personal development
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications or teaching assistant experience in the classroom (e.g. CACHE Level 3 Diploma in childcare)
  • UK experience as a teaching assistant
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered with the update service or be willing to complete a new DBS
