Job Title: Project Controller

Job Type: Full Time - Permanent

Location: Outskirts of Swindon

Job Type: Monday - Friday - 8.00am - 5.00pm (1 hour for lunch)

Salary: Negotiable on experience

About the Role:

We are currently recruiting for a Project Controller to join our client based on the outskirts of Swindon.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Assist the PCM to manage customer projects whilst driving excellent internal and external communication.
  • Site Delivery: Manage site delivery dates; coordinate vested products procedure where instigated.
  • Customer Contact: Assist with customer contact to provide up to date information.
  • Site Readiness: Check site to ensure readiness for installation (plan PCM visits where appropriate and/or securing written and photographic evidence from the customer).
  • RAMS Packs: Create RAMS packs, actively obtain competent sign off and timely sending to customer; maintain records.
  • Training and Certification: Ensure correct training, certification and supervision of teams/supervisors.
  • Site Packs: Ensure Site Pack with all site documentation including required H&S documentation is prepared, checked and available on time to Site Teams.
  • Project Tracking: Assist PCM with ensuring all Functions and customers are on track with project requirements, deadlines and schedules.
  • Cost Management: Have a clear understanding of the way a project is costed to take full benefit of changes in scope of works to maximise profit.
  • Customer Complaints: Lead process for customer complaints; record, analyse and report.
  • Customer Service: Liaise with customers post sale; ensure service, maintenance and aftercare is delivered as needed.
  • H&S Management: Liaise with the H&S Manager and H&S Consultant in the planning and documentation of audits and improvement actions for H&S processes.
  • Project Planning: Maintain accurate Project and Installation Plans in real time.
  • Site Install Times: Maintain site install times and review improvement options.
  • Order Management: Manage small orders from receipt to dispatch.
  • Project Spend: Monitor project spend against budget (including remedials).
  • Site Delay Compensation: Negotiate and agree site delay compensation where relevant with internal and external key stakeholders.
  • Subcontractor Management: Prepare installation sub-contractor questionnaire/documentation.
  • Communication: Proactively communicate on all aspects from handover from sales to project completion.
  • Subcontractor Appointment: Review, propose and gain approval of appointment of subcontractors in line with purchasing SOP, Health and Safety Policy and Induction SOP.
  • Meeting Follow-up: Document and follow up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
  • Project Strategy: Support the development of a Project Strategy in line with Company objectives and growth aspirations with the PCM.
  • Administrative Support: Support the projects department with any additional administrative tasks when required.
  • Install Cost Analysis: Update install cost analysis spreadsheet and enter data per project.
  • Additional Duties: Carry out any other duties as reasonably required.

  • Administrative Skills: Excellent administrative software skills (specifically Excel).
  • Organisation: Organised, detail orientated and excellent attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Professional Maturity: Professional maturity and resilience.
  • Travel: Be prepared to work and operate nationwide.

Nice to Have:

  • Finance Experience: Proven experience in finance management & budget preparation.
  • Construction Contracts: Working Knowledge of Construction Contracts.
  • Construction Experience: Experience in the construction sector.
  • ISO Standards: Experience with ISO standards an advantage.
