**Assessment Opportunity**

TPS Recruitment is seeking a skilled Clinical Assessor to work with the Victims' Payment Board in delivering a clinical assessment service. The successful candidate will have expertise or experience in a mental health or psychiatric background, with more than two years' post-registration experience.

As a Clinical Assessor, you will be responsible for reviewing medical evidence from applicants to determine the permanence of their condition and percentage disablement. You will also play a proactive role in seeking insight and further medical evidence as required from GPs, other healthcare professionals or services to support the applicant's application.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet face-to-face with applicants and review available medical evidence to determine the permanence of an applicant's condition and percentage disablement
  • Seek insight and further medical evidence as required from GPs, other healthcare professionals or services to support the applicant's application
  • Compile a comprehensive report in a professional and concise manner, including a detailed history, full justification and conclusion from evidence gathered to support the decision-making process

Benefits:

  • A competitive basic salary of £38,500 per annum
  • An initial 6-week training period and ongoing support provided (fully paid)
  • Flexible work patterns, working between 8am and 8pm, while contracted to work 37.5 hours per week
  • Hybrid working, predominantly working from home with clinic visits required

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years' post-registration experience
  • Fully registered without sanction or conditions of practice with the NMC
  • A demonstrable background in Mental Health/Psychiatric speciality
  • Ability to work at pace, set boundaries, manage conversations, and keep to timescales
  • Ability to relate to people from a range of socio-economic backgrounds, races, religions, and cultures
  • Report writing skills with an ability to deal with a high percentage of work using a laptop and IT systems

Estimated Salary: £38,500 - £41,400 per annum based on location and experience.
