Quantity Surveyor Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Vistry Group PLC. As a key member of our Commercial department, you will be responsible for managing costs and ensuring the successful delivery of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all costs related to our projects, including procurement, subcontract management, and budget control.
  • Prepare commercial sections of site start execution plans and collate tender packs for sub-contractor work packages.
  • Negotiate and analyze sub-contractor tender returns, producing tender recommendations for sub-contract work package awards.
  • Complete sub-contract orders and variations, as well as subcontract payments, variations, and final accounts.
  • Attend site project meetings and be responsible for project lead with HA, including preparing and issuing monthly HA valuations, cash flow forecasts, and key date trackers.
Requirements:
  • HNC in Surveying or Construction or equivalent.
  • Experience of working within the Construction industry for a residential housing developer.
  • Excellent IT, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical ability and ability to assess and analyze information.
  • Good business sense and understanding of budget management.
  • Negotiating and networking skills, as well as COINs user experience.
  • Enthusiasm, flexibility, and ability to work within a busy team and under pressure.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • HND or higher qualification.
  • Professional membership of MCIOB or RICS preferable or working towards such qualification.
  • National House builder experience.
  • Different methods of construction, i.e., Timber Frame.
