We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Randstad. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of young people who have experienced significant trauma, mental health issues, and other challenges.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervision: Provide vigilant and compassionate care and supervision to young people in a residential setting.
- Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of all residents through regular checks and proactive risk management.
- Support and Guidance: Offer emotional support and guidance to young people who may experience distress.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, therapists, and educators.
- Training Participation: Engage in regular training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Experience: Experience supporting children with challenging behavior and childhood trauma is essential. Previous experience in a children's residential home or as a support worker is advantageous.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required.
- Registration: Must be registered or willing to register with Social Care Wales.
- DBS Check: Must have or be willing to obtain an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
- Empathy and Understanding: A deep understanding of the complex needs of young people.
- Industry Knowledge: Well-versed in safeguarding regulations, de-escalation techniques, and the practices associated with being a children's residential support worker.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Calm and Composed: Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- Proactive Approach: A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
- Training: Comprehensive induction and ongoing training, including access to health and social care Level 3 and Team Teach Training.
