About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Quality Engineer to join our Quality team in Derby.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the approval, maintenance, management, and improvement of manufacturing processes and quality requirements for our vast supply chain.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and improve manufacturing processes and governance to ensure fixed process adherence within the supply chain
  • Build effective working relationships with designated suppliers
  • Respond to customer concerns and questions about products and services from our sub-tier suppliers
  • Lead/participate in root cause analysis, problem-solving, and quality investigations
  • Apply quality tools according to industry standards, e.g., 8D as per AS13000
  • Manage containment actions and MRB

About You

  • Degree in Engineering (with at least 2 years of relevant experience) or significant time-served as a Quality Engineer
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Practical experience working with aerospace standards
  • Practical knowledge of advanced quality tools (e.g., FMEA, 8D, MSA, etc.)
  • Practical knowledge of Quality Management Systems (AS9100, AS9120, ISO9001)
  • Aerospace or automotive-based, product-specific or process-specific expertise would be an asset
  • Prior experience of supplier management would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of Zero Defects principles and associated standards (e.g., AS13100)
  • Track record of participating in Continuous Improvement activities
  • Experience in problem resolution/root cause analysis
