A challenging role has become available for an experienced Environmental Director to join our client, a busy sub-contract Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Facility in Essex. This is a permanent position with a competitive salary.

  • Location: Colchester, Essex - Own transport recommended due to location

The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of quality, health, safety, environmental, and facility management functions. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies, promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility, and driving continuous improvement in QHS&E performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Approve first-off article inspection reports
  • Handle customer complaints, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and involved
  • Prepare and present the annual management review
  • Host third-party audits, including those for hazardous areas, quality, environmental, and health & safety
  • Maintain and update company health & safety registers
  • Review and ensure compliance with environmental legislation and other relevant regulations
  • Analyse and report on quality and environmental metrics quarterly and annually
  • Promote a culture of health and safety, engaging all employees to raise awareness
  • Conduct health and safety risk assessments
  • Lead quality and environmental improvement initiatives across all departments
  • Manage the introduction and implementation of ISO 45001

Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional travel to other facilities and suppliers as required

Requirements:

  • Understanding of hazardous area quality systems and relevant industry standards
  • In-depth knowledge of quality and environmental management systems
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Data-driven approach with strong analytical and decision-making skills

This is a full-time position with an estimated salary of £48,750 per annum, based on the location and industry standards.
