Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Ballymore. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and providing exceptional customer service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond effectively to all reactive tasks and engineering requests from our facilities management team.
  • Carry out all set tasks to the highest standards, as set by our business, freeholder, property director, and line manager.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all residents, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Ensure that designated areas are maintained to a very high standard, using established methods and procedures.
  • Perform routine maintenance where appropriate, recording all findings and subsequent remedial works.
  • Record and report any maintenance, health, and safety risks observed to the wider facilities team.
  • Assist with meter readings for landlord utilities, ensuring accurate and timely recording.
  • Respond immediately to certain issues, such as initial leak investigations and clean-ups.
  • Assist with general repairs to building fabric, using handyman skills to cover painting, decorations, clearing gutters and drains, and replacing door handles, latches, and door closers.
  • Support the facilities team in the management of the resort, including inspections, coordination with external service partners, and providing access.
  • Assist with cleaning light fittings and testing lighting systems, replacing minor parts as necessary.
  • Assist with carrying out routine compliance tests, checks, and record-keeping for all building systems, in accordance with safe working practices.
  • Assist with checking landlord areas and common parts, recording any defects and maintaining plant rooms in a clean, tidy, and safe condition.
  • Assist with managing stock control, critical spares, tools, and other materials on site.

Requirements

  • Prior experience of painting and decorating (desirable).
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Able to use initiative or as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Understanding of good customer care.
  • NVQ/C&G within a building trade (desirable).
