Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineering Project Manager to join our team at Lockheed Martin. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading complex engineering projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for overall engineering technical, cost, and schedule performance on specific programmes.
  • Provide the primary technical interface with Programme Management (PM) Office and Customer for all programmatic items.
  • Ensure that programmes have established and maintained engineering capabilities to deliver technical solutions within the programme schedule and cost envelope.
  • Produce and maintain artefacts that describe engineering processes, tools, and practices employed to realise programme technical solutions.
  • Work closely with other project managers, service managers, team leads, and resourcing leaders to ensure required engineering resources are in place.
  • Report metrics indicating completeness of engineering activities.
  • Support engineering team leads in providing day-to-day employee management, performance assessment, work assignments, approvals, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
  • Lead or coordinate subcontract management.

Requirements

  • Experience in a technical delivery environment with demonstrable success of team leadership and project performance management.
  • Good understanding of engineering tools, processes, requirements definition, interface documentation, test, and qualification procedures and practices required to support the development, acceptance, and sell-off of solutions.
  • Experience of control account management, development of basis of estimates using metrics, including management of risk.
  • Experience of leading and day-to-day managing of people.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to write in a clear and concise manner.
  • The ability to manage tasks and priorities to ensure assigned workload is delivered when required.
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences on sometimes complex topics.
