Job Opportunity

A highly specialist role has become available for a dedicated Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to work in a leading clinic based in the East Sussex area. You will be working for a renowned healthcare provider known for delivering exceptional patient care.

This mental health clinic offers highly specialist multidisciplinary assessment and treatment for children and adolescents with eating disorders, where behavioural or emotional problems may have resulted in severely restricted dietary intake.

To be considered for this position, you must have MRCPsychiatry or equivalent and full GMC registration.

As the Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, your key responsibilities include:

  • Providing a leadership and mentor approach to assist the multidisciplinary team in ensuring a person-centred environment
  • Adhering to risk assessment protocols and risk management within the service
  • Having overall responsibility for patient treatment plans, while liaising with the multidisciplinary team
  • Conducting psychological assessment, diagnosis, and follow-up of outpatients
  • Prescribing medication, monitoring, and stabilising medication
  • Providing cohesiveness, consistency, and continuity
  • Ensuring internal continuity and communication between disciplines, as well as collaborative multidisciplinary team working

The following skills and experience would be beneficial for the role:

  • Recent experience in acute Psychiatry
  • Relevant experience within a similar setting and working with adults aged 18+
  • Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act
  • Ability to work alongside and lead a multidisciplinary team
  • In-depth knowledge of Mental Health Legislation
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management principles
