Geotechnical Drilling Specialist

At AECOM, we're delivering a better world through our work on complex infrastructure projects. Our team is seeking a skilled Graduate Geotechnician to support our engineering staff in the field.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing a variety of tasks in support of engineering office and field staff, including testing and assessment of construction materials.
  • Attending projects experiencing problematic ground conditions, performing measurements and recording observations.
  • Liaising with project engineering staff to determine cost-effective, realistic solutions.
  • Coordinating with utility locators, sub-contractor representatives and other on-site personnel.
  • Assisting with mobilization and demobilization of project-related equipment.
  • Filing project-related notes and drawings according to project requirements.
  • Assisting with preparation of field instructions and Health and Safety plans.
  • Assisting with general data entry, analysis and preparing documents.
  • Collecting environmental samples (soil and water) for chemical assessment in support of construction activities.
  • Communicating with Senior Engineering Staff as to any field observations or equipment needs during project work.
