About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Directorate Manager to join our Pharmacy team at Sunderland GP Alliance. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the operational area across all hospital sites.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy Directorate, ensuring effective and efficient resource deployment across both hospital sites.
  • Work closely with the Chief Pharmacist to develop and deliver the Directorate's strategy in line with the Trust strategy.
  • Lead and motivate staff to deliver challenging targets through times of change, building successful teams and influencing and motivating staff to achieve goals.
  • Provide quality, safe, and effective patient care, supporting clinicians to deliver improved outcomes for patients through robust performance management, effective risk management strategies, and a strong clinical governance framework.
  • Promote a positive, learning culture where staff are empowered to share ideas and drive progress.

Requirements:

  • Significant operational experience at senior manager level.
  • Experience of budgetary management/control.
  • Experience of planning and developing strategy with a proven track record of pro-active performance management to achieve challenging targets.
  • Experience of managing large multi-professional teams towards common objectives and targets.
  • Experience of delivering complex programmes of change.
  • Experience in the Health/Social Care Sector.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the NHS.
  • Ability to build successful teams through influencing and motivating staff to deliver challenging targets.
  • Ability to manage conflict alongside effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze and present complex data, including financial and clinical data sets.
