Project Engineer for Infrastructure Development

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at AIS. As a dynamic professional, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient management of projects from initiation to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and validate project scope and technical documentation to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Coordinate with clients and suppliers to obtain drawings, specifications, and quotations for products and services.
  • Raise manufacturing requests for materials, tools, and equipment as needed, and place orders using company financial systems.
  • Oversee in-house engineering design and provide project approval for mould tooling.
  • Monitor and expedite delivery of in-house and supplier-provided items, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Arrange logistics and coordinate with transportation subcontractors as required.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with company procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Work in line with quality, health and safety, and environmental management systems.

Site Visit Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate field personnel for site works and prepare site handover packs.
  • Support the Senior Project Manager in detailed site schedule planning.
  • Monitor and support site activities, liaising daily with Site Managers/Supervisors.
  • Obtain and review necessary site paperwork.
  • Collate and submit Manufacturing Record Books detailing completed site activities.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in coordinating project work, both in-house and off-site.
  • Strong purchasing, expediting, and logistics skills.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to present data/information in a clear, concise manner for approval.
  • Highly organized and reliable in seeing tasks through to completion.
  • Able to manage workload in accordance with project requirements and strict deadlines.
  • Unfazed when working under pressure.
  • Comfortable working with various IT systems.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is approximately £36,500 - £41,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with a 15% discretionary bonus scheme, 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays, up to 6% pension contributions, life insurance (4x annual salary), access to wellbeing programmes, and lifestyle benefits website.

This is a full-time permanent position contracted to 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Thursday 08:00-16:45, and Fridays 08:00-12:30, with flexibility around working hours required in line with business needs.
