Senior Specialist Clinical Pharmacist (Oncology & Haematology)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Specialist Clinical Oncology and Haematology Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Team at the London Bridge Hospital, a leading private healthcare hospital in the UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high-quality, proactive, cost-effective, safe, and responsive patient-centric systemic anti-cancer (SACT) pharmacy service. They will work closely with the Lead Pharmacist for Oncology and Haematology and other members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that patients have access to the latest treatments in oncology and haematology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in oncology and haematology pharmacy services.
  • Participate in the daily running of the pharmacy department, including the aseptic unit, dispensary, outpatients, inpatients, clinical verification of SACT, e-Prescribing, protocol governance, and clinical audit.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve safe medicine use and management.
  • Provide patient-focused clinical pharmacy services, including medicines reconciliation, assessing pharmaceutical needs, and developing strategies to improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the resident medical officer team and nurses to ensure accurate and effective clinical verification of electronic orders of parenteral and oral SACT.
  • Assist in managing and leading a team within Pharmacy to ensure objectives are met and service delivery is maintained.
  • Represent the pharmacy department in internal and external forums to raise the profile of the department and forge links with external groups and institutions.
Requirements
  • MPharm or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Postgraduate diploma or masters in clinical pharmacy or equivalent.
  • Experience in delivering a clinical pharmacy service to wards (post-registration).
  • Previous experience of working in oncology.
  • Practical experience in an Aseptic Production Unit and GMP.
  • Mosaiq, BD Cato, Meditech knowledge (desirable).
