Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer and Facilities Manager to join our team at Safran Electrical & Power in Pitstone, Buckinghamshire, England.

The estimated salary for this role is £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Role:

This is a permanent, full-time position responsible for managing the Engineering Test and Means team and facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical/aeronautical engineering, facility management, and HSE management.

  • Manage a team of circa 10 permanent engineers, including Senior Engineer work package owners and additional contractor resources/external work packages.
  • Support the definition and flow down of annual Business Objectives, ensuring they are achieved.
  • Define the overall testing schedule for all SEP programmes.
  • Manage the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Engineering Test Laboratory, ensuring they are maintained, calibrated, and developed to support current and future products.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of Work Packages for Machine and Drive Systems Test activities.
  • Manage Financial Responsibilities for Capital Expenditure and Operational Expenditure budgets.
Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be accountable for:

  • The technical quality of all deliverables from the Test & Means team.
  • Defining and coordinating resource requirements for the team.
  • Interpreting and executing Engineering related Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) policies and procedures.
  • Defining new policies as required.
  • Workload distribution, allocation, and monitoring of defined objectives.
  • Managing the coaching, development needs, and Performance Management of the team.
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Experience in a mechanical/aeronautical engineering discipline or relevant engineering qualification.
  • Understanding of the development and certification process.
  • Knowledge of 3-stage generators, motors/smart motors, and their operation in an electrical system.
  • Experience in facility and HSE management in a similar environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly through written and verbal means to all levels of staff.
  • Ability to analyse and resolve complex problems.
  • Proven people management and leadership skills.
