Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive medical device service delivery strategy, ensuring compliance with quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Oversee the site delivery, working closely with Team Leaders and Customer Services/Administration team, and collaborate with the Head of Quality and Performance to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Manage and develop customer relationships, understanding client requirements and ensuring their expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Lead a team of biomedical engineers and administration staff, providing guidance and support to advance their development, including managing apprentice and intern programs.
  • Manage revenue and associated costs related to biomedical engineering contracts, focusing on good service quality, innovation, and efficiencies.
  • Lead on Health and Safety for the Biomedical Engineering Team, promoting a Zero Harm Mindset.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and produce monthly KPI reports to evidence service delivery.
  • Oversee the e-Quip Asset Management system, introducing innovation to drive efficiency.
  • Support new bids and improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • A solid technical and managerial background in biomedical engineering, with experience in community and acute settings.
  • A passion for quality and continuous improvement, with a proven track record of successfully managing operations against an agreed specification.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate and manage large multi-skilled teams.
  • Sound educational background to Degree level or equivalent, with professionally qualified status (or willingness to work towards registration).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, clients, and internal team members at all levels.
  • High-level knowledge and use of Excel, with excellent communication and accuracy in Outlook and Word.
  • Experience with using equipment management databases and associated data analysis.
  • Strong financial awareness and management, with great PC skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence key decision makers.
  • Proven ability to plan and achieve results in difficult situations and limited timeframes.
  • Proven experience of managing employees, addressing performance issues effectively, and motivating to maximize engagement.
  • The ability to robustly deliver continuous improvement and change where necessary.
  • Proven experience of holding others accountable for high performance, setting high standards and expectations, and challenging the status quo.
  • Ability to identify new opportunities and work as part of the Senior Management team to create growth.
