Job Overview

Foster Social Workers play a vital role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our locum team in Ellesmere Port.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with Foster Carers, delivering high-quality supervision and support to ensure the wellbeing and safety of Cheshire West and Chester's children.

The hourly assignment rate for this position is £37.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children by delivering a high-quality service, prioritizing their wellbeing and safety.
  • Maintain an allocated caseload of Foster Carer supervision and support, ensuring regulatory activity is of high standard and within timescales.
  • Facilitate support groups and present skills to Foster training, promoting best practice among carers.
  • Collaborate with partners such as Virtual School, Intervention Hub, therapeutic services, and Health to ensure comprehensive support for children and families.
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent in social work.
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Significant frontline experience in Children's Social Services within the UK, working as a qualified Social Worker.
  • At least three years post-qualifying experience, with skills in supervising and supporting fostering families.
  • Ability to travel across the Borough of Cheshire West and Chester and beyond, requiring a valid UK driving licence and access to a car.
