Overview

King's College London's Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine is a leading centre for biomedical research and education. The Faculty has internationally recognized expertise in basic, translational, and clinical research, which informs our education programmes, enhances clinical innovation, and serves our communities.

We are seeking an outstanding individual to join our team as a Clinical Professor in Critical Care. This role will involve strategic leadership in Critical Care across King's College London, bringing together the breadth of critical care expertise to deliver world-class research and innovation.

The successful candidate will be a key leader within our emerging Centre for Critical Care, working closely with multi-disciplinary colleagues across King's Faculties and NHS Trusts. They will contribute to developing world-leading scholarship, education, and collaborative research in Critical Care at KCL and across the King's Health Partners.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead multi-disciplinary Critical Care research and innovation within FoLSM and across KCL.
  2. Secure significant funding for a highly respected, international research programme.
  3. Undertake a strategic leadership role within Academic Critical Care, including research, education, mentorship, and embedding a supportive culture.
  4. Spearhead delivery of high-quality education related to Critical Care, promoting the development of a new MSc programme.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have an Undergraduate Medical Degree, MD (Res), PhD or equivalent level in a related subject, as well as a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent training in a relevant medical specialism. You should also have a proven track record in obtaining significant research grant funding, leading academic teams, and mentoring junior researchers. Additionally, you should be able to demonstrate your ability to work effectively with academic, clinical, and professional services colleagues across organizations.

Salary

This full-time position offers a competitive salary of approximately £120,000 per annum, plus benefits.
