Livestock Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Poultry Farm Assistant to join our team at Pilgrim's Europe. As a key member of our farm operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our poultry flock.

• Stockmanship and Animal Care: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of poultry behavior, health, and welfare. Ensure the highest standards of animal care and husbandry practices are maintained at all times.
• Record Keeping and Monitoring: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of bird health, food, supplies, and other relevant farm activities. Monitor and report any issues or concerns to the Farm Manager/Area Manager.
• Environmental Sustainability: Contribute to reducing the farm's environmental impact by implementing sustainable practices, such as waste reduction, recycling, and efficient use of resources.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Farm Manager/Area Manager and other team members to achieve farm objectives and maintain a smooth operation.
• Personal Development: Take responsibility for your own development and training, working with the Farm Manager/Area Manager to identify areas for improvement and implement relevant training programs.
• Communication and Integrity: Maintain open and effective communication with the farm and area management teams. Ensure the professional integrity and appearance of the farm are maintained at all times.
• Health and Safety: Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures, reporting any hazards or incidents to the Farm Manager/Area Manager.
• Equipment Maintenance: Develop a basic understanding of farm equipment operation and maintenance, working with the Farm Manager to identify and address any issues or defects.

Requirements: A minimum NVQ Level 2 in a relevant field, with a strong commitment to animal welfare and environmental sustainability. A basic understanding of farm operations and equipment is essential.
