Job Title: Principal Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Design Engineer to join our team at Leonardo SpA. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering innovative microwave designs that meet our challenging customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop microwave systems using advanced tools such as Keysight ADS, Microwave Office, and CST Microwave Studio.
  • Derive and report against design requirements, ensuring that all designs meet our high standards.
  • Apply a structured approach to electronic design, ensuring that all designs are optimized for performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with customers, sub-contractors, and in-company stakeholders to ensure that all designs meet their requirements.
Requirements:
  • Experience in the defence industry, with a strong understanding of microwave systems and design principles.
  • A degree in Electronic Engineering, Physics, or Applied Physics, or equivalent experience gained through hard work and dedication.
  • Proven experience in designing passive microwave structures, high-power amplifiers, and high-power switches.
  • Strong knowledge of RF test methods and equipment, including network analysers, spectrum analysers, and RF sources.
