Role Overview:
SimWest Engineering is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding design team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative technologies, serving a global customer base, with a company renowned for its forward-thinking approach.

This role will involve designing components and equipment for manufacturing and assembly, as well as creating 3D models and detailed technical drawings. The successful candidate will have experience with 3D CAD software and a solid understanding of mechanical design principles.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £42,000 per annum, based on industry standards and location in Lowestoft, Suffolk. Hybrid working options are also available, allowing for a flexible work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create 3D models and detailed technical drawings.
  • Design components and equipment for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Produce layout models and schematics.
  • Compile and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs).
  • Provide technical support to sales teams by offering design information for proposals.
  • Work with sheet metal design and ensure designs meet industry standards.
  • Oversee design projects from conception through to completion.


Requirements:
  • Experience with 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks preferred).
  • Experience designing equipment and machinery for the Manufacturing Industry.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical design principles.
  • A proven track record of managing design projects from start to finish.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to working.
