Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our Natural Stone manufacturing facility in Halifax, West Yorkshire.

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong background in electrical and mechanical maintenance, with a focus on ensuring the continuous running of our plant by eliminating downtime through safe and logical approaches to fault finding and maintenance of equipment.

You will be responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive engineering activities on-site, working on various types of equipment including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities on-site, ensuring the continuous running of the plant.
  • Work on various types of equipment, including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems.
  • Eliminate downtime through safe and logical approaches to fault finding and maintenance of equipment.
  • Work at heights, including ladders, cherry pickers, and scaffold towers.
  • Interrogate and understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information and recommendations.
Requirements:
  • Good working electrical maintenance and engineering knowledge with some mechanical engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Time served or apprentice, ideally trained in a similar position with appropriate electrical qualifications such as City & Guilds Electrical Engineering & 18th Edition.
  • Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues.
  • Practical hands-on approach and happy working in a dirty environment.
  • Significant experience, understanding, and knowledge of the maintenance of a variety of plant.
  • Experience in electrical fault finding, defect rectification, and routine maintenance activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, dealing with operatives, team leaders from both maintenance and production.
