Job Title: Senior Aerodynamicist

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Aerodynamicist to join our Aerodynamics department at Williams Racing in Grove, Oxfordshire. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative aerodynamic concepts and optimizing the performance of our Formula 1 race cars.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement aerodynamic strategies to improve car performance
  • Mentor and guide junior aerodynamicists to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the aerodynamics department
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and implement new tools and technologies to increase development rate
  • Analyze and report on CFD and Wind Tunnel results to inform aerodynamic decisions
  • Build and maintain positive relationships across the department and wider Williams team through clear communication and information sharing

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in aerodynamics within a Formula 1 team
  • Expertise in CFD and Wind Tunnel techniques
  • Advanced understanding of aerodynamic fundamentals
  • Proficiency in using CAD and CFD software
  • Ability to drive outcomes under tight deadlines using problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrable experience in understanding the bigger picture, including in-depth analysis of results, correlation investigations, and novel use of data
  • Strong influential ability to get buy-in and drive collaboration across departments
  • Willingness to challenge current methods and theories
