Job Title: Senior Aerodynamicist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Aerodynamicist to join our Aerodynamics department at Williams Racing in Grove, Oxfordshire.

About the Role

As a Senior Aerodynamicist, you will be responsible for developing innovative and forward-thinking aerodynamic concepts, using appropriate tools and technologies to create and deliver your vision to testing.

You will also mentor junior aerodynamicists, advising on how they can develop and improve their skills and produced work.

Additionally, you will identify opportunities for process improvement within the aerodynamics department and work with your team to identify tools and technologies needed to increase development rate.

You will assist in the planning and executing Wind Tunnel runs, working to ensure maximum accuracy and efficiency.

You will analyse and report on CFD & Wind Tunnel results to establish robust aerodynamic solutions and recommendations.

You will create and maintain positive relationships across the department and wider Williams team through clear communication and sharing of information.

Requirements
  • Experience working within aerodynamics in a Formula 1 team
  • Experience with CFD and Wind Tunnel techniques
  • Advanced understanding of aerodynamic fundamentals
  • Skilled in using CAD & CFD software
  • Ability to drive outcomes under strict deadlines using problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrable experience in understanding the bigger picture in-depth analysis of results, correlation investigations, novel use of data, non-standard models/tests
  • Strong influential ability to get buy-in and drive collaboration across departments
  • Willingness to challenge current methods and theories
