Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Vix Technology, a global leader in automatic fare collection and transit information solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team.

About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to support, maintain, and improve our products and ancillary equipment. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Identifying system faults through electrical testing procedures and using Vix software monitoring tools
  • Rectifying system, on-street hardware, and on-vehicle hardware faults within Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Corresponding with customers on maintenance and fault issues
  • Maintaining and driving to improve Key Performance Indicators (KPI) performance
  • Installing and commissioning on-vehicle and on-street equipment
  • Maintaining and updating documentation accurately
  • Liaising with local teams and Configuration Engineers
  • Ensuring compliance with planned maintenance programs
  • Attending periodic progress meetings with other Vix staff
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Complying with Health and Safety Standards
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • NVQ or similar in electrical engineering or Level 3 NVQ or similar in Light or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  • Ability to work independently to deliver and maintain high standards when unsupervised
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Customer awareness and ability to demonstrate professionalism and effectively interact with customers, delivering excellent and consistent service
  • Proven experience as a field-based engineer, time-served electrical engineer, or time-served vehicle technician with a demonstrable track record of fault diagnosis of vehicle electrical/electronic systems
  • Working in a pressurised environment, meeting tight deadlines
  • Good customer relationship skills
