As a Forensic Mental Health Consultant with North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to individuals with learning disabilities and forensic needs in Merseyside and Cheshire.
Job OverviewThis position involves working collaboratively with the Specialist Community Forensic Team (SCFT) based at Hollins Park House in Warrington. The SCFT provides preventative, reactive, and evidence-based interventions through specialist risk assessments and management, face-to-face therapeutic interventions, and support to other services.
The ideal candidate will have experience in assessing and treating individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism, as well as expertise in managing forensic cases. As a consultant, you will be responsible for ensuring that service users' needs are met through comprehensive psychiatric services, including Approved Clinician provision where necessary.
The SCFT supports around 90 people who have a learning disability and/or autism who have offended or are at risk of offending. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including highly skilled specialist nurses, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and social workers.
Main Responsibilities- Fulfilling the Community Responsible Clinician responsibility for patients accepted into the service
- Providing outpatient or community clinics and home visits as part of a flexible job plan
- Liaising with forensic support services and attending professional meetings
- Participating in regular MDT meetings, CPA reviews, MAPPA, safeguarding, risk reviews, and providing clinical leadership and Responsible Clinician role
This is a part-time post with a total of 6 PAs (Sessions per week). The successful candidate must be eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of gaining their CCT in Psychiatry.

- Ability to appraise own performance as a consultant

Salary and BenefitsThe estimated salary range for this position is £105,504 - £139,882 per annum, pro rata, plus 10% R&R (non-contractual).
