Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Operations Specialist to join our team at TRADEBE. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient laboratory environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and quality assurance procedures.
About the Role
The Laboratory Operations Specialist will be responsible for performing routine and non-routine quality control analysis, signing off and dispatching materials to customers, and authorizing the receipt of loads onto site.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform calibration checks and QC tests on lab equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement mitigating measures.
- Liaise with other departments to communicate results effectively and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of analytical data, including filing and data entry.
- Undertake project work to improve laboratory processes and efficiency.
- Report near miss accidents and incidents, and make relevant continuous improvement suggestions to supervisors/management.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A degree in Chemistry or a related field (desirable but not essential).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy, particularly in Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of analytical chemistry principles and techniques, including GC, GCMS, IC, XRF, and titrations.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
Working Hours
The laboratory operates in 8-hour shifts from 07:00-15:30 or 08:30-17:00, Monday to Friday.
Salary
We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
