As a Second Chef, you will be responsible for creating, preparing, and cooking fresh, nutritious, and varied meals for our residents. You will also supervise and support our kitchen staff, assist the Head Chef in planning meals, and ensure that individual dietary needs and preferences are catered for.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare and cook meals to a high standard, ensuring presentation and quality are always excellent
* Supervise and support kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed
* Assist the Head Chef in planning meals, consulting with residents and care staff to ensure individual dietary needs are met
* Cover for the Head Chef when necessary, assuming responsibility for ordering, checking in, and controlling supplies

Requirements:

* Passion for food and commitment to delivering high-quality meals
* Organized with the ability to meet deadlines
* Experience and presentation skills to lead the hospitality & kitchen team in producing attractive and high-quality meals in high volumes
* Certificate in NVQ Level 2 Food Production/Hygiene or willingness to undertake one
* Understanding of health and safety and other current relevant legislation
* Confidence to take the lead when needed, as well as being a team player
