We're looking for highly motivated individuals to join our team as a Street Lighting Engineer. This exciting opportunity offers a chance to work on the installation, maintenance, and cable jointing of street lighting systems.

About the Role

This role is ideal for those with a strong interest in electrical engineering and a willingness to learn. As a Street Lighting Engineer, you'll be responsible for installing and maintaining street lighting systems, including cables, poles, and luminaires.

You'll spend most of your time working outdoors, learning about all aspects of street lighting and power distribution. You'll also attend block release training programs to gain your formal qualifications, including courses on trade skills such as plant operation and live electrical connections to the underground power distribution network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain street lighting systems, including cables, poles, and luminaires.
  • Conduct routine checks and maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient operation of street lighting systems.
  • Liaise with colleagues and clients to resolve any issues or concerns related to street lighting systems.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A-C / 9-4 (or equivalent) including Maths, English Language, and Science.
  • A real interest in electrical engineering shown by relevant work placements, studies, hobbies, or projects.
