About the Role

We are seeking a Religious Visitor to join our Chaplaincy Team at Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre, providing pastoral care and support to residents and staff.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering faith-specific services, acquiring and distributing religious literature, and working closely with Security and Safer Custody to ensure issues such as Suicide and Self-Harm and Violence Reduction are delivered in line with the DSO's.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pastoral care and spiritual support to residents and staff
  • Deliver faith-specific services and activities
  • Acquire and distribute religious literature and materials
  • Work closely with Security and Safer Custody teams
Requirements

The successful candidate will have experience in delivering religious services, ideally in a custodial environment, and be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and competence in congregational service delivery.

They will also need to have a working knowledge of other faiths represented within the centre to enable them to work in a multi-faith environment.
