About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Connectment. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and pricing of tender packages, ensuring accurate and timely completion of applications.
  • Verify client payments against applications and provide a debtors position to the Head of Commercial, taking action to reduce outstanding accounts.
  • Manage subcontract packages, including the management and payment of labour and plant gangs onsite.
  • Negotiate and agree contractual variations with clients, ensuring accurate pricing and commercial acumen.
  • Manage multiple schemes simultaneously, attending site meetings and working closely with project teams.
  • Develop and support other Commercial team members, providing guidance and expertise as needed.
Requirements
  • QS degree or relevant Cost/Commercial discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role for major housebuilders.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure and take the initiative.
  • Proficient IT skills, with a strong working knowledge of Excel and Bluebeam.
  • Sound commercial acumen, including managing a large volume of work to tight client-driven deadlines.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience of pricing tenders/contract variations.
  • Driving license.
