Secure IT Infrastructure Engineer Role in Cambridgeshire

We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Specialist to join our Digital Services Group at MASS. This field-based role involves working with our small team of IT network and infrastructure engineers to support internal and external projects.

This is a permanent, full-time position based at our Cambridgeshire Head Office, but frequent UK travel and occasional overseas travel are required due to customer location.

You will be the point of escalation for both internal and external users for infrastructure support issues, including Microsoft Operating Systems and underlying hardware technologies.

About the Role

This is a varied and challenging role that requires strong technical skills and experience working with Windows Server, Network protocols, Backup Technologies, and other related areas.

You will work closely with external vendors and own all planning phases to ensure a smooth onboarding of newly procured hardware is achieved.

Key Requirements
  • Experience with Server Architecture and hardware installations
  • Knowledge of Windows Server, Network protocols such as TCP/IP, Backup Technologies
  • Familiarity with Out of Band systems, Network Infrastructure, Virtualisation, VLANs, VPN, and Wireless
  • Detailed exposure to Windows operating system along with common Microsoft products such as Exchange, SQL Server
  • Deployment tool experience such as WSUS, SCCM, 3rd Party Patch management tools

This role includes some elements of On Call dependant on project requirements.

Due to the highly secure nature of the projects you will be involved with, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain a UK Government DV-level security clearance and a UK National.
