About Our Organisation: Better Cotton is a leading organisation in the cotton industry, dedicated to improving the environmental and social sustainability of cotton production. The Challenge: Looking ahead to 2030, we are targeting enhanced impact, reducing GHG emissions from cotton production by half, big cuts in synthetic pesticide use, improve soil health across our network, improve farm income and support women's empowerment among farmers and farm workers.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Team Management: Provide strategic direction, mentorship, and support to a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented culture that aligns with Better Cotton's mission and 2030 goals.
- Impact Delivery and Innovation: Deliver field-level impact and ensure measurable progress in sustainable farming practices and cotton farmers' well-being.
- Fundraising and Partnership Building: Develop innovative funding models, expanding resources for Better Cotton's sustainability and impact initiatives.
You will work closely with:
- The Thematic Leads to align biodiversity, production sustainability, and livelihoods initiatives with broader goals.
- The Communications Team to develop thought leadership content.
- The Cross-functional Teams to develop and implement global strategies.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a University degree, or equivalent higher education qualification, in a relevant field.
- Has experience developing and implementing a global approach/strategy for other organisations, ideally in a relevant field related to agriculture.
- Is fluent in English and has excellent communication skills.
- Has experience in project management, team leadership, and budget management.
- Has knowledge across the textile value chain and competency in languages most relevant to Better Cotton countries.
We offer:
- A competitive salary of £76,500 per annum, commensurate with relevant experience and skills.
- Hybrid working arrangements, with core hours from 10 am to 4 pm local time.
- Flexible working, with up to three days/week in the offices central London, Delhi or Lahore.

- A pension scheme and 25 days paid annual leave, plus 8-9 Bank Holidays and a further 3 days off over Christmas.
