About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SENCo to join our team at Teaching Vacancies. As a SENCo, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to support students with special educational needs
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure inclusive teaching practices
  • Assess and monitor student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness
  • Develop and maintain relationships with parents and carers to ensure effective communication and support
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in SEN and contribute to the development of our SEN policy
Requirements
  • Master's Level National Award for SEN Coordination
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge in the subject area up to GCSE
  • Recent and relevant teaching experience
  • Experience of assessment at key stage 3 and 4
  • Awareness of strategies for improving learning and achievement
  • Ability to use a range of teaching and learning strategies
  • Understanding of assessment for learning
  • Confidence in using standard computer packages
