The Role

As a key member of our agriculture team, you'll be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our agriculture strategy, focusing on animal health and welfare, environmental improvements, and enhancing skills and knowledge for young farmers.

You'll engage with various stakeholders, including suppliers, farmers, and industry experts, to promote sustainable practices and improve our overall sustainability performance. Your expertise will help shape our approach to sourcing ingredients, reducing waste, and promoting eco-friendly initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sustainable agriculture practices across our supply chain, ensuring compliance with global quality and sustainability principles.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain department to ensure the highest standards of quality and sustainability are maintained throughout the supply chain.
  • Represent McDonald's at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, promoting our commitment to sustainability and animal welfare.
  • Work closely with our marketing team to develop compelling narratives around our sustainability efforts, highlighting our progress and achievements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of our sustainability performance, using data and metrics to inform decision-making.

Requirements

  • Agriculture or Agri-food degree or equivalent.
  • Significant experience within a related agriculture or Agri-food industry with a track record of delivery.
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and motivate colleagues and suppliers to high performance.
  • Budgeting competence and commercial understanding.
  • Computer literate, proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Estimated Salary: £65,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
