We are seeking a subject specialist who is passionate about Psychology and wants to use their expertise to help young people achieve their future career goals. As a member of our Humanities team, you will be responsible for building positive relationships with students, supporting them to achieve their long-term career objectives, and using your emotional intelligence to unlock barriers to their progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of students and curriculum area schemes of work.
  • Set and mark work according to college policies, monitoring and reporting on student progress through review and reporting procedures.
  • Record and issue resources to students, communicate with staff regarding student organization, and attend parents' consultation evenings and other college events.
  • Prepare materials for Preview/Open evenings, interview prospective students, and contribute to the preparation and delivery of the induction process.
  • Cover classes for absent colleagues, participate in the professional appraisal process, and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of recent developments in the subject/curriculum area.
Requirements
  • Degree in Psychology or a related subject, with expertise in the chosen subject area and knowledge of additional enrichment activities.
  • Ability to take responsibility for multiple functions involving students, resourcing, and college events, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to relate well to staff and students, judging the balance of support and pressure required to maximize achievement through appropriate support, guidance, and policy usage.
