The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware Development Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and development of our next-generation portable, hand-held diagnostic medical devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop hardware for embedded applications, with a focus on medical-related fields.
  • Develop and implement FPGA hardware designs, particularly using Microchip PolarFire series devices.
  • Design and layout high-speed communication interfaces, including MIPI.
  • Manage subcontractors for design and manufacturing, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement design verification and validation processes.

Requirements

  • 1st or Honors degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  • Higher degree (MSc or PhD) in a photonics or optical-based area is desirable.
  • 3-5 years of experience developing hardware for embedded applications, preferably in a medical-related field.
  • Significant experience with Altium (3-5 years).
  • Excellent knowledge of engineering principles, including mathematics.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Microchip and ARM devices.
  • Knowledge of GitHub source code control.
  • Experience with Electro-optic or photonic devices.
  • Knowledge of VHDL/Verilog programming languages.
  • Understanding of RTOS and design of experiments.
