Production Manager Job Description

At Alstom, we are seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to join our team at the Bletchley Depot. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are met through the efficient management of resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage production teams to achieve optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Monitor and control production on a shift-by-shift basis to ensure accountability and clear delegation of tasks.
  • Ensure all production meets safety and quality requirements, adhering to internal standards, customer specifications, and Network Rail standards.
  • Identify training and resource needs to facilitate production in the most effective way.
  • Implement disciplinary procedures for serious staff irregularities and maintain a well-disciplined workforce.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement through personal checks, analysis of incident reports, and complaints.
  • Ensure documented quality procedures are adhered to.
  • Plan and control leave entitlement for production team members within set guidelines.
  • Encourage continual professional development for staff within your area of responsibility.

Requirements:

  • HNC in an engineering field or equivalent.
  • Competent user of personal computer, including office packages, email, and internet.
  • Good communication, verbal and written, report writing, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Network Rail rules and regulations.
  • Experience in fleet and/or maintenance operations and planning workloads effectively.
