Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Chapter Director to lead our Network Engineering team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in strategic technology leadership, IT infrastructure, analytics, and outsourcing management. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and influence in a matrix environment.
Key Responsibilities- Establish the right standards: Define expected practices and guardrails, ensure network engineering aligns with National Grid's future state blueprint and roadmap, and review and manage Chapter Lead performance.
- Develop the right skills: Map expected competencies and certifications against each role and level in the Chapter, design career paths, and partner with Learning and Development teams to design targeted training and certification curriculum.
- Deliver the right capacity: Track supply of and aggregate demand for Chapter resources, collaborate with executive leadership to ensure Chapter members are allocated to the most impactful teams, and develop a recruiting strategy for Chapter members.
- Manage/deliver for internal and external stakeholders: Demonstrate subject matter expertise in all areas of development and innovation in the Chapter domain, ensure Platform Leads and other stakeholders know what resources and knowledge are available to them, and collaborate with executive leadership to ensure Chapter members are allocated to the most impactful teams.
- Network Engineering Focus: Facilitate collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and best practice adoption across the network engineering community, establish and promote frameworks and guidelines for the standardization of network architecture, design principles, and operational procedures, and organize workshops, seminars, and training programs to upskill network engineering teams.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual with a Master's Degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic technology leadership, IT infrastructure, analytics, and outsourcing management, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
What You'll GetAs a Chapter Leader, Network Engineering, you will receive a competitive salary, a company car or allowance, a bonus of up to 20% of your salary for stretch performance, and a competitive contributory pension scheme. You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits, including a share incentive plan, a salary sacrifice technology scheme, and support via the employee assistance line.
