Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Specialized Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at NHS Professionals Limited in Sheffield. As a key member of our acute team, you will provide high-quality care to individuals with communication and/or swallowing problems.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Speech and Language Therapist to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing specialist services to adults with various communication and swallowing disorders. You will be responsible for assessing, developing, and implementing individualized treatment plans, as well as providing training and advice to other professionals, patients, and families.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct differential diagnoses on clients' communication/swallowing based on assessment evidence, seeking guidance as needed.
  • Develop clear care plans grounded in best practices.
  • Pursue relevant training and development to maintain and enhance your specialist skills and knowledge.
  • Familiarize yourself with relevant procedures, including those related to vulnerable adults and legal frameworks aligned with government policy.
  • Understand and apply Clinical Governance principles to professional practice.
  • Demonstrate advanced auditory, perceptual, and analytical skills in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Provide Specialist Speech and Language Therapy Treatment to a defined caseload of adult patients with diverse communication and swallowing issues.
  • Offer guidance and training to other professionals, patients, carers, and families regarding patient management and care.
  • Adapt your practice to meet individual patient needs.
  • Supervise the work of assistants and volunteers.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

A relevant professional qualification (first degree level or equivalent).Registration with the Health Care Professions Council and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.Dysphagia accreditation and experience.Experience of multi-disciplinary working.Extensive post-graduate experience.

Estimated Salary Range

The estimated salary for this position is £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
