Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Support Worker/Personal Assistant to provide support for an individual with a learning disability in the Blyth area. The successful candidate will work closely with the individual and their family to ensure their needs are met and their quality of life is improved.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and support with daily living tasks, including showering, dressing, and medication management.
  • Assist with mobility and handling, including the use of a ceiling track hoist and powered wheelchair.
  • Support with continence issues and the use of a Convene Catheter.
  • Accompany the individual on outings and activities, promoting social interaction and community engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of support provided and communicate effectively with the individual's family and healthcare professionals.

Requirements

  • Experience of supporting individuals with learning disabilities and epilepsy.
  • Understanding of moving and handling techniques and the ability to use a ceiling track hoist.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a mobility vehicle.
  • Enhanced DBS check and permission to work in the UK.
